5 Tips For Traveling This Summer

We are thrilled that summer is finally here. Summer means a slower pace, new adventures, festivals, barbecues and enjoying time with friends and family. Getting outdoors and away from our electronic devices is summertime must. It is the perfect season to take some time to get away, even for just a couple of days. Wherever you go this summer, it is important to be prepared. So we thought we’d share some helpful tips to keep in mind wherever your travels take you this summer.

  1. Stay Hydrated

No matter where your travels take you, hydration is the key to keeping your body ready for anything and ultimately enjoying yourself. Dehydration can set in real quick and before you know it, you are not well. Severe dehydration can be tough to recover from and can really put a damper on your summertime travels. But, something as simple as keeping a water bottle with you wherever you go can keep your summertime plans moving forward.

  1. Stay Active

While vacations are a great time for some rest and relaxation, they are also a great time to stay active. Of course you need some down time. Spending an afternoon reading a good book on a quiet wrap-around porch is important to do from time to time. But getting out there and exploring is also important to do. Staying active is easy to do when visiting Eureka Springs. With so many great hiking and biking trails, ziplining tours and events, you will have no problem staying active while here in Eureka Springs.

  1. Be flexible

Saving money is always a good thing, especially while taking a vacation. Having flexible travel plans can really help you make the most of your summer travels. You can find the best deals when your travel dates are flexible. Look for specials and packages offered in the area of your destination to help you determine when you should take that trip. If flying, try traveling mid-week instead of the busy weekend. The day of the week that you travel can make a significant impact on cost, so do a little digging to make sure you are getting the best deal.

  1. Digital Backup

Before you head out, make copies of your Driver’s License, Passport, etc. and keep a digital format available. If the unthinkable happens and you lose your wallet (or worse), you will at least have some form of identification to help you through recovery mode. But be sure to be vigilant with your important belongings, especially when traveling. Being careful to prevent loss to begin with can really save you from some serious headaches. Besides, who wants to spend their precious vacation time searching for a lost wallet? That’s probably far from anyone’s ideal vacation.

  1. Do your Homework

Doing a little homework ahead of time is well worth the effort. Planning details of your trip and having accommodations, transportation and an itinerary of activities laid out ahead of time spares you from having to use precious vacation time on planning. Get the planning done before you go, so you can maximize your enjoyment while vacationing. We’ve made it easy for you here at Arsenic and Old Lace with our vacation guide.
