This time of year, fall leaves have reached their peak color, cooler temperatures fill the autumn air and the buzz of the upcoming holiday festivities are all around town.  These are just a few reasons to visit Eureka Springs this holiday season.  Visitors return to Eureka Springs year after year to take part in holiday shopping in the Historic District and to delight in the decorations lining the streets.  This unique town with its cheerful spirit around every corner will set the stage for your start to the holidays.

The town of Eureka Springs has a variety of events throughout the season to keep your schedule full and festive.  If you don’t have plans for Thanksgiving and you want to take a break from hosting, many Eureka Springs restaurants offer classic Thanksgiving fixings.  The Crescent Hotel will offer a Thanksgiving buffet in the Crystal Ballroom from 9:00am to 2:00pm with carved meat stations and an assortment of traditional buffet offerings.  Local favorite, Myrtie Mae’s will also be hosting a traditional Thanksgiving buffet from 11:00am to 3:00pm.  Shortly after Thanksgiving, the sights and sounds of the holiday season quickly appear all over town.  From the live nativity at The Great Passion Play to the Christmas Tour of Homes, the town is alive with music and holiday spirit.  Also for those with a sweet tooth, the Sweet Treats Cookie Tour will be taking place the weekend of December 14th.  Ten participating Inns will open their doors for sampling their favorite cookies and holiday treats.

Make your way to Spring Street on December 6th to watch the Eureka Springs Chamber Christmas Parade.  Winding its way to downtown Eureka Springs, thousands of lights and sounds of the season will fill the streets while beautifully decorated floats, carolers and bands parade by spreading the joy of the upcoming season.  Even Santa loves to visit Eureka Springs.  Brunch with Santa will be December 8th at the Crescent Hotel from 10:00am to 2:00pm.  Kids of all ages will delight in spending the morning with the man in red and even taking time to sit on his lap for a picture.
