A fun filled, four day event will make its way back to Eureka Springs this September. The 7th Annual Scooting the Ozarks Rally will be held September 10th through the 13th. This rally with organized rides invites riders of all types of scooters to participate. Mopeds, maxis, 2 stroke and 4 stroke scooters are all welcome to participate. Ozark motorcycle rides are popular in this region because of the twisting roads with very little traffic and stunning views of the mountains.
One of the main events of the weekend is a guided ride on Thursday, September 11th. The day will begin with a ride leader meeting at 8:00am. There will be a long ride around 254 miles and then a shorter ride that is around 220 miles. Participating scooters must be able to maintain a minimum speed of 55 miles per hour. Groups of about ten riders each will leave in intervals of 10 to 15 minutes allowing the faster drivers to go first. There will also be a Poker run on Friday and a Show N Shine on Saturday. Other events included in the weekend are many self-guided rides and rides around Eureka Springs.
A few of the highways traveled on the guided routes include Highway 374, Highway 123 and Highway 7. Highway 123 is great for riding because of the light traffic, curves and turns, great pavement and scenery. A stunning site that can be seen along the ride is what is known as the Grand Canyon of Arkansas. This scenic outlook can be seen as the scenic 7 byway begins to climb to its highest point.

Scooting the Ozarks comes at the perfect time of year. Arkansas in the fall is one of the most stunning places to view fall foliage in the south. The leaves begin their change in color beginning in October. If your travel plans bring you to the area for the rally, stick around and spend time exploring Eureka Springs and the surrounding mountain region in this beautiful season.
